Barn Quilt Block Painting

Join the Wyoming Quilt Trail with a painted barn quilt block on your house, garage, fence, or barn!  In this session we will be painting a 2 foot square block.  You will need to have a block pattern chosen before the class. If you need help with a pattern, let us know and we will help you choose one. Keep it to straight lines, no curves, special symbols, brands, or pictures. It is possible to complete the painting of the block in class if the pattern you choose is not too complex. For inspiration, go to Pinterest and search Barn Quilts.  If you are unable to finish within the 5 hour class time, you will be able to finish the block on your own.

If you would like to see what others have made in this class, go to the Wyoming Quilt Trail page on facebook.  There are a lot of examples there.  Please show up on time.

Cost: $70.00; includes pre-primed 2 foot square quilt block, 3-4 colors of paint, foam brush, and tape.  We have tools you can use, see the note below about supplies you may want to bring with you.

Galaxy Quilt by Studio 180 Designs

Galaxy is a beautiful alternating block design using two types of blocks, one with a purple star and one with a green star. Because of the color placement and the different angles in the triangles, the interesting interlocking circles appear and the second star block disappears into the circles. It’s a fun optical illusion, easy to make and even easier to admire.
