Mystery Quilt Class
Mystery Quilt Class
Who doesn’t love a mystery? Join us over Winter Break to piece together the clues of a mystery to make a quilt.
Cost: $75.00 (includes the pattern)
Date: Thursday and Friday, Dec. 29-30, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days
Skill Level: Intermediate
Supply list: A supply list will be emailed to participants.

Free Motion Quilting Class
Learn how to use Free Motion Quilting to finish your quilt tops on your domestic machine. In this class you will learn the basics of making a quilt sandwich and free motion quilting design.
Cost: $35.00
Date: Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Skill Level: Intermediate
Supply list:
- Skillbuilder preprinted fabric panel and book (sold at QE)
- 1 1/8 yards of fabric for backing
- Batting that is at least 36″ x 45″
- A full spool of good quality quilting thread 50 wt
- Quilting needles
- Sewing machine in good working order that will allow you to drop the feed dogs down
- Free motion quilting foot specific for your sewing machine (you can also bring a walking foot, but this will limit the designs you can do)
- Optional: Quilter’s gloves

Beginning Piecing
In this class you will learn the basics of cutting your fabric, stitching with a 1/4″ seam allowance and piecing your rows together. You will learn basic techniques of a 4-patch and flying geese blocks. By the end of the day, you will have a nearly completed wall hanging or table topper.
Cost: $40.00 (includes the pattern)
Date: Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Skill Level: Beginner
Supplies that must be purchased from the shop or brought with you: 1 yard focus fabric, 1/2 yard of light background fabric, 1/4 yard of medium fabric, 1/8 yard of dark fabric, 3/8 yard for inner border. You will need a sewing machine in good working order and the operator’s manual. Sewing machine needles (90/14), 50 wt thread such as Mettler or Aurifil, 2 pre-wound bobbins, 6″ x 24″ acrylic ruler, 6″ square acrylic ruler, Rotary cutter, Cutting mat at least 18″ x 24″, Seam riper, Pins, Marking Pencil, Quarter inch sewing foot, Paper for notes and a pencil.

Project Bag Class
Who doesn’t need a new project bag? Why not make one for yourself or a friend? In this class you will learn the techniques of how to make one bag. Once you have done this you will be able to make more or one of the other size options available in the pattern.

Date: Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Supply list:
- Project bag pattern and the supplies listed on the pattern for the medium bag.
- Rotary cutter, mat and rulers
- Sewing machine needles, thread and other notions you would normally use in a project.
- Zipper foot and walking foot for your sewing machine
- Sewing machine in good working order

T-Shirt Quilt Class
Have you been saving T-shirts? Do you want to make a T-Shirt quilt for that special someone or for yourself? This is the class for you. You will learn how to prepare the t-shirts to be pieced into a quilt and learn tips and tricks from Dawn. Students must know how to cut fabric, sew a ¼” seam and square up fabric. Please show up on time.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Supply list: This is for a 3×3 T-shirt quilt. (This does not include the borders.)
- You Did What With My T-Shirt book
- Minimum of 9 t-shirts
- 2.5 yards woven stabilizer (not interfacing)
- ¾ yard cotton fabric for 5 frames
- 5/8 yard cotton fabric for 4 frames
- Thread
- Pins
- Rotary cutter/ mat
- Seam Ripper
- 12 ½ square ruler if you have one (15 ½ inch square is also handy)
- Small straight ruler
- Tape measure
- Sewing machine in good working order with owner’s manual

Youth Apron Class
Youth Apron Class
Do you have kids who are interested in learning to sew? We will teach them how to make their very own apron. They can pick their fabric the day of the class.
Cost: $40.00 (includes the cost of fabric, thread and pattern)
Date: Saturday, April 15, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Skill Level: Beginner
Supply list: The fabric and thread are included in the registration fee. Students should know how to use a sewing machine and have one in good working order, sewing machine needles (90/14).

Registration Policy
Student Expectations
Students are expected to show up on time for class and be prepared to learn. Please be respectful of others and their desire to learn. Class supplies should be purchased prior to class.
Class & Club Fees/Registration
Register early, as class/club space is limited. Payment must be received prior to class/club to guarantee a spot. Please remember that if payment is not made, you are NOT registered.
You may call with your credit card info or come into the store. Once you pay for your class, you will receive a supply list. If you have required supplies at home, by all means, bring them. If not, we would appreciate it if you would purchase the supplies from us. We’ll offer you a 15% discount on the fabric, tools, and other class supplies purchased from Quilt Essentials. If there is no registration fee then there isn’t a 15% discount.
Cancellation Policy
We have a 7 day cancellation policy. If you cancel 7 days in advance, your class/club fee can be transferred to another class/club or be used as store credit. If you cancel in less than 7 days, you forfeit your fee.
